About Beate Stindt Physiotherapy
About Beate:
I started off my physiotherapy career in government service in Grahamstown after qualifying from Stellenbosch University in 2009. I then worked in both Port Elizabeth and Cape Town in private practice after which I headed off to the quiet city of Norwich in the UK.
After a short 8 months in Norwich the bright lights of London beckoned. I ended up spending almost 4 years in a private musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice a stone’s throw from St. Paul’s Cathedral in the city. I was promoted to clinical director in April 2017 and enjoyed the following 18 months managing the busy London City clinic.
I have done numerous post graduate CPD courses including a diploma in Sports Physiotherapy.
Most significantly, I have worked closely with both Dr Sarah Mottram (UK) and Mark Comerford (Aus) since 2017, who are directors of Kinetic Control (www.comeramovementscience.co.uk).
Kinetic Control offers musculoskeletal physiotherapists a structured approach to assessment and retraining to optimise movement health.
I am one of two accredited Kinetic Control tutors in South Africa and am honoured to be a part of such an accomplished international team.
In 2022 I was offered the opportunity to become an Accredited Tutor for Dynamic Tape (www.dynamictape.com), the original Biomechanical Tape®.
As a bit of a sceptic when it comes to gadgets and add-ons, I surprised myself by being really impressed with how Dynamic Tape assists me in helping my patients reach their goals more easily.
There is more and more research being published to support its use in managing the loads exerted on our tissues and joints. Have a look at their website for more information.
In 2024 I have embarked on my most significant challenge – my master’s degree in Physiotherapy through the University of Stellenbosch. I will be doing a research-based degree, and my aim is to add to the existing evidence that individualised movement retraining really does make a significant and measurable difference to a person’s injury experience and recovery to movement health.
Outside of physio, I am married to my best friend and favourite person, Hennie. We enjoy living life together. I also enjoy trail running (especially the long hilly ones), tennis (thanks to Hennie), and reading (thanks to my inspiring friends).

Location
In May 2024 I moved my practice from the Bloomingdales Lifestyle Village to my home in Mount Croix after my 3 brilliant colleagues each moved on to new chapters in their lives; Michelle to teaching, Sulette to her family (although she does still offer Pilates classes, thank goodness!), and Sarah to the UK.
With a new focus, both personally (getting married) and academically (enrolling for my Master’s degree) I opted to continue in solo practice from our new home.
As I do not have a receptionist or waiting area, I ask that you wait in your vehicle whilst I get ready for your scheduled appointment and, when I am setup, I’ll come to the gate to open for you. Kindly park your car on the street outside our home, or on the verge in front of our home.
