Beate Stindt Physiotherapist
Physiotherapy clinic on Main Road, in the popular suburb of Walmer in the heart of Port Elizabeth
Beate Stindt offers individualised assessment and treatment of all musculoskeletal and sport injuries. This includes acute injuries such as ankle sprains as well as lower back and neck pain, pre-operative and post-operative treatment and rehabilitation, as well as managing chronic illnesses such as arthritis.
Assess
Each one of us is unique in the way we look, move and behave. My shoulder pain is therefore unique and different from your shoulder pain and so a 'one-size-fits-all' approach does not work in the world of Physiotherapy and Movement Health. At Beate Stindt Physiotherapy, you will undergo a thorough and detailed assessment tailored to you, your condition and your goals.
Restore
Usually when patients come to see me, they have lost part of their ability to move as well as they would like to. My role is therefore to figure out why this is so, and to work out a plan to restore this lost movement. This could be done through manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue work, joint mobilisations etc. as well as through guided, active movement.
Perform
Once we have restored your movement, we then look to assist you in improving your performance, be it getting in and out of your car more easily, being able to carry your ever-growing grandson, or whether you might be needing to improve your performance on the sports field. Beate meets you where you are at and guides you to where you want to be.
What to expect:
During your assessment, Beate will first of all chat to you to find out a few more details about your injury. She will then do a full physical assessment. This may require her to ask you to put on some comfortable shorts (and a strappy top for our female clients) so that she is able to see how your body moves. Please feel free to bring your own if you prefer.
After your initial assessment, Beate will discuss her findings with you in as much or as little detail as you would like. She will then suggest a management plan which may include some hands-on treatment as well as some movement therapy that might require a bit of effort from your side! She’ll be there to guide and assist you along the way!
Expectations are set out together with you at this first session so that you and Beate both know your end goal and have a plan on how to get there. Treatment frequency will also be discussed and Beate will advise you on this.
Your initial assessment will be 1 hour in duration with follow up sessions being 45 minutes.
Beate makes use of videos to send to you to remind you of what you’ll need to do as part of your rehabilitation. The easiest, and most secure, way of doing this is via Whatsapp. If you do not feel comfortable with this arrangement please discuss this with Beate.
Beate is honoured to be a part of an international group of Physiotherapists that work together to offer post-graduate courses to Physiotherapists under the brand of Comera Movement Science – Kinetic Control. This means that you can feel confident that you will receive physiotherapy management of an international standard as we strive to keep up-to-date with the latest evidence-based treatments.
